Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Drone Mapping & Surveys by Airmap.

What types of surveys do you offer with drones?

We provide a range of services including:

  • - Topographical surveys
  • - Construction site progress monitoring
  • - Agricultural mapping
  • - Roof and infrastructure inspections
  • - Volumetric measurements (stockpiles, earthworks)
  • - Environmental and land management surveys.

Are your drone pilots licensed and insured?

Yes. All our drone pilots are fully licensed by the [Civil Aviation Authority authority. We carry comprehensive public liability insurance for all operations.

What is the accuracy of your drone mapping services?

Our drone mapping surveys typically achieve horizontal accuracy within 2-5 cm, depending on the project requirements and conditions. We also use ground control points (GCPs) where higher precision is necessary.

How do I receive the survey data?

We deliver survey outputs in formats suited to your needs, such as:

- Orthomosaic maps (GeoTIFF, JPEG)

- 3D models (OBJ, LAS, or point clouds)

- Contours and CAD files (DWG, DXF)

- Volumetric reports

We can also provide easy-to-view web links for interactive viewing.

Can you fly in any weather conditions?

For safety and quality reasons, we avoid flying in heavy rain, high winds, or poor visibility conditions. We will always collaborate with you to reschedule or adjust plans to suit the weather.

How large can an area be surveyed on one flight?

The area covered in a single flight depends on the location and required resolution, but typically we can map up to one hundred hectares (250 acres) in a day. For larger projects, we plan multiple flights.

Do I need to arrange permissions for drone flights?

No — we manage all the necessary flight planning, airspace permissions, and risk assessments for each job.

How soon can I get the results?

In most cases, we can deliver preliminary data within 24-48 hours after the flight, depending on project complexity.

Is drone surveying cost-effective?

Absolutely. Drone surveys often reduce costs significantly compared to traditional surveying methods, especially on large or difficult-to-access sites.

Do you offer custom solutions?

Yes. Every project is different, and we are happy to tailor our services to your specific requirements — from data format to reporting style.

How do I get a quote?
